David has lived in Ventura County since 1962, originally from Oxnard. He obtained his B. S. degree in Physical Therapy from Cal State University Northridge in 1990. Since graduating, he has devoted his career to the treatment of Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic problems, and Post-Surgical Orthopedics. Prior to his graduation, David worked for 4 years as an aide at St. John's Regional Medical Center and continued working as a Physical Therapist in acute care for four years after graduating.
David has focused his evaluation and management strategies using the Australian Approach and the Maitland techniques. In November 2008, he received a Certificate in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) from the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS). After taking numerous postgraduate Manual Therapy courses and receiving his Certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in August 1999, David has become very proficient in active exercise approaches to complement his overall approach to rehabilitation.
In addition to his Manual Therapy and Exercise and Strength experience, David has more than 12 years working with work related and industrial injuries. He has spent a good portion of his career rehabilitating injured workers including initial evaluation and management as well as doing Functional Capacity Testing to certify that the worker is ready for return to work activity.
Through the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, David has spent 7 years as a volunteer member of the Ventura County Search and Rescue Ojai Team. He holds an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification, and has received a Citizens Medal of Merit from the Ventura County Sheriffs Department for a life saving rescue in 2007.
As an outdoor and exercise enthusiast, he enjoys surfing, cycling, running, camping, hiking, and rock climbing.
